Door County’s hometown heroes, the Modern Day Drifters are playing classic country tunes from 11 am -3 pm with lots of delicious food and drink available all day.

“Each spring, we plant hundreds of special pink pumpkin seeds along with our traditional varieties of orange pumpkins and gourds in the Dairy View patch to sell on this special day as a fundraiser for cancer research,” says Roxanne Schopf. “Help the cause by taking home something meaningful and unusual, a real pink pumpkin!”

The petting zoo is also open as usual from 10 am to 6 pm. Spend as much time and effort as you like, in the Corn Maze from just the beginner’s level to solving all 4 maze challenges – a regular fall feature at the Schopf Family Farm and Country Store, located on County Road I, just east of Carlsville.

It was a full day of family fun with pony rides, face-painting, tractor rides and a chance to win cash by guessing the weight of the Great Pumpkin in a 50/50 raffle. Here’s an opportunity to help in the fight against cancer and take home one of Door County’s only crop of natural, pink-colored pumpkins.

The day started off with a Corn Maze Walk for Cancer Research. Adults registered to walk for $25, youth walkers $15 with all walkers getting a souvenir T-shirt and an awesome goodie bag! All of the proceeds will go straight to Door Cancer. Maze walkers huddled up at 9 am on Saturday and departed at 9:15. Late comers could register on the day of the event beginning at 8:30 am.

You can also donate $20 to the fight and place a memorial card on the Walk of Honor! We all know someone who is “in the fight,” a “survivor,” or wish to make a donation “In memory of…” Now, you can honor them with a commemorative sign.
